I'm a best-selling author and church safety advocate. After my experiences in both vocational and volunteer ministry (boy do I have stories), I am devoted to helping create church cultures that no one needs to heal from. In my free time, as a retired private investigator, I'm up for a good true-crime marathon too!
I graduated from Butler University (go Dawgs!) where I studied English literature and played varsity tennis. I still read more books than I can count, and am still competitive in ways that may be considered a tad "extra".

Let's picture something - your church being known in your community as a place where people are welcomed and kept safe in every sense of the word. We've all been in churches where that wasn't true, and it felt awful.
My mission is clear: to help women create church cultures that no one needs to heal from. But here’s the thing – it can be hard to know how to make that happen. As a speaker, I encourage and equip women to boldly defend the hearts and minds of their God-given flocks. I'd love to talk with you about how I might serve you and the women in your church!
“Speak out on behalf of the voiceless, and for the rights of all
who are vulnerable.” Proverbs 31:8 CEB
It all started with a "newspaper" my childhood self wanted to sell to the neighbors. I had ideas, and I wanted to share them!
I still want to share, but now I'm focused on advocating for women who are ready to create a safe and welcoming culture in their church. Not just a surface level smile-and-a-handshake culture, but one that digs deep into Scripture to find ways to boldly defend the hearts and minds of your God-given flock.
Because you do have a flock. You are a shepherd, working for the Good Shepherd. I’m no Bible scholar and I’m not here to convince you of anything. I’m inviting you to join me in seeing things from a new perspective - God’s. Allow His transcendent Word to speak to your heart through my ordinary words in my weekly email tips and upcoming Bible study. You can also check out my previous books here.

Lori Morrison’s book, Reclaiming Sanctuary, is a perfectly timed reminder to all churches that “sanctuary” is far more than a worship site — it is a sense of safety and security. Reading and applying Lori’s insightful and practical guidelines can bring a sea change to our churches in how to face the current cultural reality as church leaders shepherd their flock even as wolves scheme against the sheep. Thank you, Lori, for writing with courage to say what needs to be said and to provide a tool that matters.
I love how the author takes a holistic approach to safety in church. Amid the physical safety challenges our current-day churches face, the author also addresses emotional and spiritual safety. This book helps church leaders identify the most critical safety needs in their churches and offers simple, immediate changes they can make to improve safety for their congregation. The author is supportive in her approach to safety, never coming across as condemning to the church. She provides simple solutions to complex problems. I highly recommend this book to every church leadership team as they address their position of shepherding their flock per the Word of God.
Lori was very informative and entertaining. Kept our attention during whole presentation...
was engaging and asked for input on our experiences and helped you think.
I believe that God, eternally existent as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, created mankind (male and female) in His image. As such, each of us is worthy of respect and protection.
I believe in Christ’s saving grace through faith, the need for constant repentance, and in baptism as a symbol and public profession of Christ’s work. Jesus Christ is God’s son, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, willingly took upon Himself all of our sins, died and rose again bodily, and is at the right hand of the Father. Salvation is found in Him alone, and He will return to consummate history and fulfill the eternal plan of God.
I believe in the indwelling and empowering of the Holy Spirit (the fruit and gifts), and the marriage of faith and works as the evidence of genuine salvation. The Spirit enables men and women to understand truth. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they
serve God through His church.
I believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original manuscripts, providing an authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice.
